After all the overseas phone calls, the haggling with insurance representatives, and cramming my entire life into two suitcases, in five days I will finally be in Paris.
To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve really spoken much French. Beyond the very limited conversation that arises when I meet someone else who claims to also speak the language, my skills have been rusting. I was joking with Ben last night that I’m not even quite sure how to tell the bank that I would like to set up an account. The closest I could come is that I would like to set up a bank. I imagine this would draw a quizzical look, being as I am a 21-year-old American girl from Clackamas County, Oregon, with a barn in my yard.
I have resisted the blog world for quite a while–I am not always a huge fan of technology and I still like to read the paper in physical paper form. But the time has come. Hopefully, I can share some fun stories, like asking a bank representative if I can set up my own bank. (That didn’t actually happen yet though and hopefully it won’t if I can find an English-French dictionary!)
Let the bloging begin! Maybe I’ll even get someone to show me how to upload pictures… but I don’t want to get ahead of myself, even words is a big step for me.
I’ll miss you all while I’m in Paris and hopefully by the time I come home, Paris will miss me!

Boo! I love this blog! I am going to read it every day so I can live in Paris through you. I am sure all the technical stuff will work out. And good luck packing everything into 2.5 bags- you aren’t very good at that.
